About the event
Even though the majority of construction waste is recyclable, the overall recycling rate for C&D waste in NYC is not even 50%.In addition to using state-of-the-art equipment, Cooper are spearheading C&D recycling by using equipment designed to recycle 95% of incoming materials. Hence, Cooper is raising the bar and, through outreach and transparency, encouraging other facilities to step up and help the city achieve its vision of zero waste by 2030.
In addition to an introduction to the working of the facility, you will get a guided tour through a mile-long maze of conveyer belts, screens, grinders, magnets, and sorters. Proper dress is required for this tour: participants should wear sneakers or boots, long pants and long sleeves. Safety gear will be provided.
